Scouting the Future: Boozer, Dybantsa, Traore and International Standouts from the Summer

In this episode of Locked On NBA Big Board, host Rafael Barlowe is joined by Alec Kichian (@draftpoint2024) to break down the top non-college prospects who made noise in international play this summer. The duo kicks off the episode by covering the highly anticipated showdown between Cameron Boozer and AJ Dybantsa in San Diego last weekend. Both players also headlined a dominant Team USA U17 squad this summer, a team that could go down as one of the best U17 teams ever. Barlowe and Kichian dive into the performances of Boozer and Dybantsa, discussing which player stands out more as the top NBA prospect. The debate over who will be the No. 1 prospect in the 2026 NBA Draft has already started, and it’s a battle that could fuel discussions for years to come. The conversation shifts to France’s international standouts, with Kichian breaking down Nolan Traore’s scoring and playmaking performances. Barlowe highlights Hugo Yimga’s physical presence, noting how he excelled against older competition, while they both discuss Nathan Soliman’s long-term potential. They also touch on the immense—and perhaps unfair—expectations for Soliman, who is already being labeled as France’s "next great prospect," despite being at least four years away from the NBA Draft. In the final segment, Kichian shares his insights on Serbia’s Andrej Bjelic, who turned heads with his scoring and shooting ability at the U16 European Championship this summer. Throughout the episode, Barlowe and Kichian provide detailed scouting reports, offer unique insights into each player’s strengths, and discuss how these prospects could shape future NBA draft classes. NBA Draft analyst Rafael Barlowe from NBA Draft Junkies and current author of the NBA Big Board newsletter is joined by Richard Stayman (@MavsDraft), James Barlowe, and Leif Thulin to breakdown the NBA Draft. Rafael & Team gives passionate NBA Draft fans a deep look into the NBA Draft with great guests, Mock Draft, player rankings, and of course BIG BOARDs. Part of the Locked On Podcast Network.
