Heroines of Horror: The True Haunting Behind Vessel

Aurora and Fanni from Bad Witches Productions join us to share the real-life hauntings and creative process behind their horror short, Vessel. Aurora’s ghostly attachment sparked a deeper exploration into how feminism and the paranormal intertwine—both in life and on screen.

We dive into the connection between women’s experiences with the paranormal and the broader struggle to be believed, especially in the context of trauma. With help from an Emmy-winning VFX supervisor, the Vessel team plans to bring these themes to life through powerful visual storytelling. Aurora and Fanni also reflect on the thrills and challenges of femme-led indie filmmaking—from casting and fair pay, to navigating gender dynamics in the industry. Our conversation is filled with chills, creativity, and a shared excitement for what's to come in the world of indie filmmaking!
