‘He really needs this game’: Jeff Lebby faces his own crossroads in the Egg Bowl

Mississippi State is dealing with its own coaching drama entering the 2025 Egg Bowl.

No. 7 Ole Miss has had to deal with daily rumors for over a week on the future of sixth-year head coach Lane Kiffin. Kiffin is the top candidate for openings at LSU and Florida.

Lebby was Kiffin’s first offensive coordinator at Ole Miss. Years later he’s wrapping his second season leading the Bulldogs. On3 Mississippi State reporter Robbie Faulk believes this year’s edition of the annual rivalry matchup is critical for Lebby’s outlook in Starkville moving forward.
