You Can Love Your Job and Still Want Your Life Back
A career can matter to you and still leave too little room for the life you want. Pride in your work does not make that tension disappear. What would a thoughtful next chapter require? In this episode of The Level Up Podcast, Paul Alex breaks down how to consider a career change while respecting the work, skills, and responsibilities you already have. Paul shares his pride in law enforcement alongside the demands of an unpredictable schedule. Wanting more control over his time led him to explore a different future while appreciating what that career had taught him. He built an operating ATM business and income before resigning. That experience frames a practical lesson: understand what needs to change, investigate the everyday reality of your next move, and prepare around your current responsibilities. In this episode, you’ll learn: • How to identify the specific part of your career that needs changing. • Why options within your current career deserve consideration. • How investigating an ordinary workweek improves preparation. • Why existing skills remain valuable when you change direction. The truth is simple: A new chapter deserves a clear reason and a realistic next step. Look at the tradeoffs, carry your experience forward, and prepare for the work ahead. Build a next step that fits the life you want. --- Your Network is your NETWORTH!
